Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Srikakulam, was founded by the Andhra Pradesh State Government through G.O MS No: 89, Higher Education (UE.II) Department, on June 25, 2008. Its establishment aims to enhance educational opportunities within Srikakulam District and meet the educational requirements of its residents.
